OUR VERDICT

Pika is an AI video and image studio that gives you many third party and in house models in one place, with no watermark on any plan. Its paid plans start at $10 a month and are good value for creators who will use the credits, but the free plan includes 0 monthly credits and no commercial license, so it is not a real free option.

What Pika is

Pika started as an AI video generator and has grown into a studio of creative apps. Its site lists Video Studio for clips up to 30 second multi shot videos, Extend Video for making clips longer, Color Grade, Edit Image, Character Studio for reusable characters, Image Studio and Product Shot for product images without a photoshoot Pika ↗. Other listed tools include Swap Anything, Motion Transfer and Product Ad Pika ↗.

It also does sound. Pika Soundtrack scores a clip with music, ambience and foley matched to the action, and there are tools to create audio, speech and sound effects Pika ↗.

Much of the value is model choice. Pika lists video models including Seedance 2.5, MiniMax H3, Wan 3.0, Google Omni Flash and its own Pika 2.5, plus image models such as GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana, and speech models from ElevenLabs Pika ↗. Every plan includes all models Pika pricing ↗.

Hands on testing is in progress, and we will update this review with results.

What it does well

No watermark anywhere. Pika says no plan adds a watermark, including Free Pika pricing ↗. Many rivals watermark free output.

One subscription, many models. Because all plans include all models Pika pricing ↗, you can try a cheap model for drafts and a premium one for the final clip without paying for several services.

The pricing page is unusually clear about costs. It lists credits per generation: a 5 second 720p video costs 122 credits on Seedance 2.5 or 33 credits on Wan 3.0, while a 1K image costs 8 credits on Nano Banana 2 or 2 credits on GPT Image 2.5 Pika pricing ↗. It even estimates how many generations each plan buys, such as 27 Wan 3.0 videos or 7 Seedance 2.5 videos a month on Starter Pika pricing ↗.

It covers the whole short video job: clips, product shots, characters, color grading and a soundtrack Pika ↗. For social posts and product ads, that can replace several tools.

Paying yearly saves 20 percent Pika pricing ↗.

Where it falls short

The free plan is not really free. It includes 0 monthly credits, so you must buy credit packs to make anything Pika pricing ↗. Free and Starter also have no commercial license, so you need Creator at $35 a month to use output in ads or client work Pika pricing ↗.

Premium models burn credits fast. Starter's 900 credits buy only about 7 five second Seedance 2.5 videos Pika pricing ↗.

Top up credits have limits. Pika says they work only for Pika Create on pika.art, not the API, MCP, iOS app or old.pika.art Pika pricing ↗.

Credit costs for audio and speech models are not listed on the pricing page Pika pricing ↗, so it is harder to plan for sound heavy projects.
