What Claude is

Claude is a general AI assistant made by Anthropic. You can chat with it on the web, on desktop and on mobile, and it can search the web, create and edit files, run code, remember past conversations and connect to other apps Claude pricing ↗.

What it does well

Writing is where Claude stands out. On Arena's creative writing leaderboard, which ranks models by blind public votes, Anthropic models take six of the top ten places and Claude Opus 5.5 is second Arena creative writing ↗. The free plan is generous on features. Where it falls short

Claude does not make photos or illustrations. Anthropic says it does not generate images the way image tools do Claude Help Center ↗. If you need pictures for posts or ads, you will need a second tool.

Limits are hard to predict. Every plan resets on a rolling five hour window, and paid plans add weekly limits Claude pricing ↗. There is no fixed message count, because usage depends on conversation length, model and features Claude pricing ↗. Pricing and plans

Pro costs $20 a month billed monthly, or $17 a month billed yearly ($200 up front) Claude pricing ↗. Max starts at $100 a month, with a choice of 5 or 20 times Pro usage per session, higher output limits and priority access at busy times Claude pricing ↗.

Team is for 2 to 150 seats. Standard seats cost $20 a seat a month yearly or $25 monthly, and Premium seats cost $100 yearly or $125 monthly with 5 times Standard usage Claude pricing ↗. Who should (and shouldn't) use it

• Good fit: owners and writers who draft emails, web pages, proposals and posts.
• Good fit: people who work with long documents, contracts or reports.
• Good fit: anyone curious about AI coding, since Claude Code comes with Pro.
• Skip it if: you need AI image generation in the same app.
• Skip it if: you need predictable, published message counts.
